Once More Round Distant Sol
Although we can no longer see the sun
So far we’ve traveled ‘cross the Milky Way
We celebrate when each Earth year is done
And mark the coming of a New Year’s Day
Our colony goes ‘round a different star
We journeyed through the endless dark to find
Our clocks and hearts however look afar
And to that distant sol both stay aligned
This custom holds throughout the galaxy
Our human seeds spread wide on solar winds
Each New Year’s Eve in every colony
We party as a new Earth year begins
Across the worlds sprayed through this starry dome
Each human eye looks up to find our home

Thanks as always for reading! Have a great week, and I’ll be back next Sunday with something fun.
As Dorothy Gale said, there's no place like home. This is a very moving sonnet, Owen.
